🏅 Which Olympic Sport Am I Built For?
Answer a few questions about your body and your fitness, and see which Olympic sports your build actually suits — scored as a % fit across 38 sports and 95 events.
Finding Your Olympic Sport
Watch any Summer Olympics and the range of bodies on show is remarkable. The 100m final and the marathon are both running races, and the athletes in them look nothing alike. Rowers tower over coxswains. Gymnasts are compact and mobile; volleyball blockers are the opposite. Weightlifting is contested in bodyweight categories precisely because mass changes what's possible.
This quiz scores you against benchmark profiles for events on the Summer Olympic programme, then ranks them by how closely your build and fitness match. You get a #1 pick, a top 5 sports, and the full ranked list of events.
Olympic Sports Covered
Athletics, swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming, rowing, canoe/kayak, cycling, triathlon, modern pentathlon, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, boxing, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, fencing, weightlifting, sport climbing, basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball, football, field hockey, handball, rugby sevens, baseball/softball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, archery, shooting, sailing, equestrian, skateboarding, surfing and breaking — broken down into 95 individual events, since a shot putter and a marathon runner are both "athletics" but nothing else about them matches.
How to Take the Quiz
- About you: Your sex and age, so we compare you to the right benchmarks.
- Measurements: Height, body weight and arm span, in metric or imperial. Arm span is worth measuring — a span longer than your height is a real advantage in swimming, rowing and the throws.
- Performance & strength: Eight questions on sprint speed, running endurance, vertical jump, push-ups, pull-ups, squat strength, flexibility and agility.
- Experience: Sports you've already played, years training, and the highest level you've competed at.
Everything is optional. Skip what you don't know — only the answers you give are scored, and your results show a confidence figure based on how much you filled in.
How the % Fit Score Works
- Benchmark bands: Each event has an ideal range for the attributes it depends on. The middle of the band scores highest, the score tapers to the edges, and falls away outside them.
- Event-specific weighting: Attributes matter differently by event — height dominates for the high jump, body mass for the throws, flexibility for gymnastics.
- Partial answers: Weights are renormalised across what you answered, so an incomplete quiz still gives a sensible result.
- Skill-dominant events: Archery and shooting are damped, because physique predicts very little about who wins them.
- Experience bonus: Sports you've played get a boost that scales with how long you played them — from about 2 percentage points for under a year up to 9 for more than ten years. You set the duration per sport, so a decade of netball counts for more than one term of judo.
What the Result Does and Doesn't Mean
A high fit score means your physical profile resembles that of athletes who do well in that event. It says nothing about whether you'd make an Olympic team — that takes a decade of coached training, and physique is only one input among many. Read your results as a shortlist of sports worth trying, not a verdict.
